Fashion show raises $1200 for teen scholarship; relive highlights

Many thanks to all of you for attending last Sunday’s Fashion Forward show. Thanks to you, we raised $1200 for the Fashion Design Scholarship for Teens. For more information about the scholarship, go to this link: Scholarship.

B Robichaud won the “Vote to Win” contest for 6 hours of class time at Portland Sewing and voted Vanessa Lambert’s Provenance Dress from her La Vie Celebre collection as best garment in the show.

The buyers and press chose Karen Davis, Moulagerie, as the next designer for StudioSKB.

Fashion Forward Show makes the “Hot List”

Look for the Portland Sewing’s Fashion Forward Show to make the top 5 Hot List in the Oregonian’s Friday April 27 A&E section. An advance story runs in today’s Oregon Live.

According to reporter Kristi Turnquist:

“Members of Portland’s fashion design community are well aware of Sharon Blair, owner of Portland Sewing and renowned teacher. Among her past students are such “Project Runway” veterans as Gretchen Jones, Becky Ross, Janeane Marie Ceccanti and Bryce Black. Blair is showcasing local designers with the “Fashion Forward Show,” featuring fall 2012 collections from designers including Black and Joshua Buck, as well as emerging talents. Proceeds benefit the Elisabeth Marie Fashion Design Scholarship, dedicated to teens seeking fashion industry careers.
